 Petroleum Jelly
 
Lure Trout. Coat small pieces of sponge with petroleum jelly to simulate fish-egg bait.
 
Put petroleum jelly on clean car battery terminals to prevent corrosion.
 
Repair stains, rings, and minor scratches in wood furniture. Cover each scratch with a coating to petroleum jelly, let sit for 24 hours, rub into wood, wipe away access and polish as usual.
 
Remove chewing gum from hair by applying petroleum jelly in the gum and working it until it comes out.
 
One day my brother found some face camo paint that a Marine left laying around. He had a terrible mess and that stuff doesn't easily come off. Petroleum jelly took it right off of his face. I used to use it to take stage makeup off of my face also.
 
Uses for AlkaSeltzer
 
Drop 2 Alka Seltzer tablets in the toilet. Wait
20 minutes, then brush and flush.

To clean a stain from the bottom of a glass vase, fill with water and drop in 2 Alka Seltzer tablets.
Leave a few minutes and "swish" around.

Drop 2 tablets into a glass or bowl of water and
immerse jewelry for two minutes. Wipe dry with a soft
cloth.
                            
Clean a Thermos: Fill the bottle with water, drop in 4 Alka
Seltzer tablets, and let soak for an hour. Rinse well.

Unclog a stopped up drain: Drop 3 Alka seltzer tablets down the drain and follow with a cup of white vinegar. Wait a few minutes, then run hot water full force down the drain.

Uses For Baking Soda

  • Sprinkle some on a carpet to deoderize it. Let it sit for 15 minutes before vacuuming.
  • Use it instead of salt to deice sidewalks and stairs. It won't damage floors, shoes, and pet feet.
  • Removes stains such as coffee and tea. Also use as a pot scrubber, use to clean pans, sinks, tubs, or anything else you would use a soft scrubbing soap for. Just add a little water and scrub.
  • Sprinkle some into the storage covers for your lawn furniture. It will keep them fresh through the winter.

Dental Floss

Sew buttons on coats or sweaters. It is stronger than thread and can be tinted with to a desired color with magic markers.

Baby Wipes

  • Use baby wipes to clean scrapes and cuts.
  • Use to soothe sunburn
  • Keep in a plastic zipper bag and keep handy while you do your needle work. Use for a quick clean up before you start crafting.

ADDRESS LABELS

Use the little address labels you get in the mail for free, to label dishes you take to potlucks, to enter sweepstakes/raffles, fill in your name and address on coupons or identify an item left at a repair shop.

Fabric Softener Sheets

  • Eliminate static cling from hair or panty hose by rubbing sheet over it
  • Keep drawers or luggage smelling fresh
